Brawley Management Company

The most current newsletter is strangely devoid of any information regarding our new management company (outside of the passing of the special assessment probably the biggest community news of the year), but as of 01/01/2010, the neighborhood employs a new outfit.

Brawley Management has this to say

Hi James

I am excited to announce that as of January 1, 2010 Brawley Management did indeed take over the management of your community.  Regarding our online services at this point the Landen Meadows website is being created more information about this will follow at a later date.  We do offer online payments via Smartstreet.com.  Again more information about this service will come in the mail soon. Be looking for it!!!

Once you receive the information please let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

One wonders what exactly prompted the change.

Re: Brawley Management Company

Heheheh - nah, I think I was just a minor irritation to them - mom and pop outfits like Bumgardner do not like to be held to a set of standards.

Think about it though - you and your fellow homeowners are paying over $1100.00 a month for a service that you have no idea if you are getting or not.
In any other area of your life/business you would insist on service/value for money wouldn't you ? - so why not your management company ?

Think back over the last years - when can you name specific instances where you felt or saw the effects of Bumgardner being involved in the neighborhood ?
Did they ever send you minutes of a meeting ? Did you ever see them in the neighborhood ? Did they ever send you the financial statements ?
Did you ever hear of them solving any problems ?
Perhaps the answers to these questions would illustrate why I have been advocating a change away from them for some time.

The same goes for any other vendors we pay for a service - just the same as you don't settle for sub-par service in any other aspect of your life, so should you not as a homeowner.

Collectively, the homeowners in LM give over $200,000.00 a year for services - you have every right to be indignant when you do not receive the service you are paying for.

Re: Brawley Management Company

Maybe we should set up our own Management Company lol, sounds like a deal, rake in $200K and do nothing! Ha ha!
Let's hope that the change in Company is a step in the right direction!

Re: Brawley Management Company

Hi everyone!

Axa, I couldn't find the New Topic button, have you hidden it?

If you are as keen as I am to cough up the HOA dues this year, if you follow the links to the smartstreet payment system, you will need an individual account number that has been designated to your household.

These codes will be sent to you in February in an invoice so you can make the payment.

I thought I would pass this on to prevent Casey being called about it.  He seemed very pleasant to deal with and I'm looking forward to having a new HOA now!

Nope - it's still there - look for "Post New Topic"

I'm sure Brawley will do an exceptional job - in comparison to the last crowd.
The problem of communication remains - why do people simply refuse to keep you, the resident informed ?
Brawley has been your Management Co. for nearly a full month already - and you heard about it on this website first.

Thanks for taking the initiative though  - keep digging - we'll get our money's worth eventually.
By the way - I guess homeowners do not have a login yet ?

No I don't have the Post New Topic, I couldn't find a way to paste my little picture in here to show you that!

No, homeowners do not have a login yet, this will be sent to each individual within the invoice.  It consists of a code for your street and your house number.

Ok - you should see it now smile

By the way to post your pretty picture all you would do it grab a screenshot, save it as a picture file (.gif or .bmp or .jpg)
Click on Image hosting on the top menu bar to upload it to the site.
Then copy the code it gives you and paste in your post.

Re: Brawley Management Company

Interestingly our budget for 2010 allows for $8000.00 less to pay for Brawley Management Company's services than it did last year.
Am I missing something ? Surely Brawley doesn't charge 8k less a year than Bumgardner did ??

If so...WOW ! Were we ever getting ripped off by Bumgardner - and good on the board for changing.
( Ahem, something I strongly advocated a year ago)
(Now how about we look at why we retain a landscape company that is based out of state ?)

As soon as Brawley comes up with the December 09 P&L we'll take a look at some fun comparisons year on year.

Re: Brawley Management Company

Have you ever thought that they just relocated over the SC line like a lot of other companies have in Charlotte?

Re: Brawley Management Company

To be honest I have absolutely no idea. Does anyone ?
What I do know is that we are paying them $40,000.00 this year for their services.
