End of School year Party??

First of all the so called party was held before school was out, there are still 4 days left. I am not sure if any one on our so called "social"commitee has or understands children. A dunk tank at a POOL???? Stale chips, warm drinks, and some noise makers wow lots of fun. My 12 year old perfered to go home and help cook dinner, he said tonight at dinner that his weekend was great, but the party was kinda stupid. How much of our money was spent on yet another unsucessful "social" Commitee funtion. Have not been to a good party yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!1sadroll

Re: End of School year Party??

Wow. I completely disagree! Thank you to all on the Social Committee for stepping up to the plate! It takes a lot of time and effort to put functions together! Trust me, I served on this committee a few years ago, and I definatey know what it takes! The kids always look forward to the "End of School" party, and I know my child had a blast, so again...THANK YOU!!!!

Re: End of School year Party??

Thank you, very  much, "Sporty" for your kind comments!  I also had some wonderful feedback not only from all the kids that enjoyed hours of fun but also from parents.   Some kids were asking when we were going to have the dunk tank back again.  As one parent said...it's not a 'good function' until a child cries because they don't want to leave.  We had a few like that.  And after two long hours in the sun, the kids hated to see it have to close down...

"Bigdaddy16", thank you for your feedback.  Although I wish you would have taken the time AT the event to express your feelings and apparent concerns as opposed to waiting and posting pretty much anonymously to a website.  There were numerous Social Committee representatives there from 12:30 - 4:30 or 5:00 - ample time to discuss anything you might have wanted to discuss.  Also, my phone number is always in the newsletter as the Social Committee Chairperson and we're always looking for people to join the social committee to gain fresh ideas and much needed additional help for these events.  As "sporty" mentioned it takes a lot of time to put any of our events on and additional assistance is always greatly appreciated.

Re: End of School year Party??

Unfortunately I was not able to participate in this event this year, but I ,too, heard that there was a great feedback.  Looking back MANY years ago when I was a kid, a dunk tank was always a hit.  What a great idea on such a hot day!  Thanks to the volunteers who worked in the 95 degree heat.  I'm sure they had other things to do with their time on a Saturday!
